I tried, but I can’t honestly think of a better use of the EU flag since when it has been designed 60 years ago, in 1955.
I will probably never have the chance to thank personally the man bearing it or to exchange a few words with him, listen to his story and discuss the future of our (mine and his) continent and our (mine and his) Mediterranean sea. Both of which I love so much, for no other reason than a shared cultural heritage.
So this is my message in a bottle, left in the virtual sea of a wordpress blog and the associated social networks.
This is a hard time in EU and you all just made it a bit better. This is not the end of the story of course, but it might be a nice twist of the plot for the start of a better new chapter.
